Sylvia Robledo is a lifelong advocate for Los Angeles communities and a candidate for City Council in District 1. With decades of experience in public service, she has held roles in both city and state government, including serving as aide in Council Districts 1, 9, and 13. In each position, Sylvia has delivered results by prioritizing community needs, expanding access to services, and improving public safety.
Her career also includes service at California Hospital Medical Center, where she supported community-based health initiatives, deepening her understanding of the intersection between public health and city policy. Sylvia later served as Western Regional Director for EMILY’s List, where she recruited, trained, and supported women candidates in ten states—building political power for women and working families across the region.
A proud UCLA alum, Sylvia has served on various boards including Camino Nuevo Charter Schools, the UCLA Latino Alumni Association, and the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council. Sylvia had a strong record of involvement and volunteerism in civic and legal advocacy, demonstrated through her prior work with the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law
Sylvia is running for City Council to bring inclusive, transparent leadership to District 1. Her priorities include tackling homelessness with compassion and accountability, protecting parks and public spaces from fire risks, and creating safe, walkable neighborhoods. With deep roots in the community and a record of public service, Sylvia Robledo is ready to lead with integrity, experience, and heart.
