Sylvia's Priorities

Sylvia Robledo is running for Los Angeles City Council District 1 to bring honesty, accountability, and real solutions to City Hall. Her priorities reflect the concerns she hears every day from neighbors across the district—and her commitment to making our communities cleaner, safer, and more just for everyone.

Public Safety That Serves the Community

Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood. That starts with supporting the people who protect us—through fair staffing, modern tools, and updated recruitment practices that reflect the city's values.

But safety also means more than policing—it means investing in public health, community programs, and trusted leadership.

Sylvia believes City Council must consistently stand with our first responders while also delivering services that prevent crime before it starts.

Clean and Healthy Neighborhoods

No one should have to beg for basic cleanliness. From overflowing trash cans to neglected public spaces, the city is not meeting its responsibility to keep our neighborhoods clean.

Sylvia will fight for increased investments in public sanitation so every community—regardless of ZIP code—has clean sidewalks, safe parks, and a livable environment.

Fiscal Responsibility You Can Trust

Taxpayers deserve transparency and smart budgeting. Sylvia supports a full, top-to-bottom review of city spending, and believes it's time to reduce waste, increase reserves, and take real steps to address the crisis of legal settlements draining public funds.

She also believes in cutting where it counts—by implementing cost-saving measures that preserve essential services and protect the jobs of frontline workers.

A Real Strategy to Address Homelessness

For too long, bureaucracy and broken systems have delayed action. It’s time to replace LAHSA with a city-led department focused solely on homelessness—one that is transparent, accountable, and delivers results.

Sylvia has participated in homeless counts and seen firsthand how flawed our current methods are. She believes the city needs to be honest about what’s not working—and commit to compassionate, effective solutions that get people off the streets and into stable housing.

Rebuilding Public Trust

Los Angeles has been shaken by scandal and corruption. From pay-to-play politics to unethical behavior by elected officials, the damage to public trust has been deep—and ongoing.

Restoring trust means rooting out bad behavior and building a culture of integrity and accountability at every level of city government.

Fixing Constituent Services

Too many residents in Council District 1 feel ignored by City Hall. Calls go unanswered, issues are left unresolved, and basic services are overlooked. Sylvia believes every resident deserves timely, respectful, and effective support from their council office.

She will prioritize constituent services—staffing her office with trained professionals who follow through. No more delays. No more political favors—just real help for the people who need it.
